I have a Polaroid 32" LCD HDTV w/ DVD Player & Digital Tuner, TDA-03211C
And I have a Time Warner HD DVR Box. What Im trying to do is Record an HD Show with my Samsung DVD Recorder (I know it wont be HD VQ) And When I do this I have the horrible picture Quality in the middle with grey Bars on the top and Bottom of the screen.

Now When I want to see HD I have to turn to channel Video 4 (YPbPr1) on my tv, Cause on Channel 3 on my TV isnt HD Cause I see the grey bars and the picture in the middle. So How do I record Whats on Channel Video 4, and not on Channel 3.

I hope I explained this well enough/ and hope its in the right forum. Please let me know. Thanks for any help.

Didn't really explain it very well. Can't tell what you meant by "channel 3 video and channel 4 video"; and what makes you think that one is HD and the other is not.

Anyway, you should be connecting to the input of the DVDR with S-Video.

The recorded content should be output to the TV with either S-Video, component, or HDMI.

But, in all cases, it will display on your TV with black (or gray) bars on the top, bottom and sides of the picture. That's just the way it works.

Perhaps if you indicated how everything is connected, someone would have a clue as to how to help you.

Why don't you record the program in SD on the DVD recorder?
