Why Are Stocks Lower For Directv Compared To Dish Network?

I been looking at the stock market for a few months and notice Dish has more profit than Directv.Directv's stock is much lower than Dish Networks.
I read that there's a corporate shakeup..people fired..corruption..does anyone here know the whole story? And is Directv in danger of closing down?

Directv's stock is lower than Dish because there are 6.5 times more shares of DTV on the market than Dish.

Directv: Outstanding Shares: 1,385,848,000
Current Value of all shares: $19,983,928,160.00

Dish: Outshanding Shares: 216,047,000
Current value of all shares: $6,165,981,380.00

Directv's market value is over three times that of Dish. Sometimes, a shakeup is good for a company. But Directv is in no danger of shutting down. Directv has ranged in price from $19 to $14 a share, so I think it would need to drop well below $10 before issues are raised. Dish had a high of $85 3 years ago, and is just now recovering back to $23 a share.

I'd be more worried about Dish than Directv. Personally, I think Directv is a good buy right now. The stock should go up once the new birds are in the air. It's not going to $30 or anything like that, but think a $2-3 a share rise is reasonable.

Joe handled it pretty well. Here is something that will drive rick nuts:

CVC $28/share (Voom) Hmmmm.
DTV $14/share (Directv)
DISH $29/share (Dish Network)

Oh no, please, by all means, regale us plebeians with your knowledge  . Or did you not learn anything from the Series 7 book the boiler-room hack firm you work for gave you? In case you didn't notice, it's really lame to flame someone and then not back it up.

I'm not in that business. And you might know more than I. It just amazes me that people can be so ignorant. I suppose when the stock splits he thinks he's doubled his holding too! Besides, this forum is lame anyway...to many newbies..bye

Pretty harsh I think. he asked a question.. and got the answer he was looking for no thanks to you. So now, he has LEARNED something. Maybe , just MAYBE this question couldve been asked by a 12 year old kid.. and thats how you reply to this thread?

Do yourself a favor , and stay away from this forum... since youre so intellectually superior to everyone else.

Actually, if your stock splits you do double your holding provided it's a 2 for 1 split. The total VALUE of your shares is unchaged, but you have increased your holding.

The points of a forum is to hsare information, ask questions and get answers. There was a question about Directv posed in a Directv forum. What's the problem?
