vertical green line on right side of screen

comcast is my provider, motorola dct6416 III box feeding a phillips 42 plasma via hdmi. after close to a year with this set-up, my rig now has a vertical green line on the right side of the screen. line only appears on hd channels, not on sd channels or vcr. i've seen this issue discussed on the verizon FiOS forum, but seems specific to that technology.

Sounds like your overscan got turned off. Check for a button that says overscan or aspect ratio or fill and push it. If this is not enough, we will need the model number of your TV to help.

The dreaded line just showed up on my hd channels after the latest system 'upgrade'. After a bit a research online I figured it was an issue with the old style box (i've got a newer model in another room with no problems at all). Two boxes later, I think I have solved it.

First, I had to figure out how to get into the mysterious and elusive "stb" menu. Easy enough if you know how to find it. Just hit the 'menu' button while the box is off.
Once the 'stb' menu appears, goto the 'additional hdmi settings' line, and change the color space to rgb. Turn the box back on and presto.

That's it. It literally takes less than a minute to fix. Now why was that answer so hard to find?? Hopefully this post will save someone the time/trips to comcast/frustration that I've experienced.

I am having this same problem with my Vizio VO370M set. The only difference is that my vertical green bar is thin and on the left side. There are also green 'specks' in the black or very dark portion of the screen. I have only had my HDTV for since December. How can I fix this?
