The Masters Golf

For all of us golfers - particularly those of us just beginning to emerge from our winter lairs - CBS has posted some interesting info about their upcoming coverage of the The Masters. Click on the following link.

Sounds like they're using a greatly increased number of HD cameras on the course. Also HD coverage will be all four days instead of just the weekend. I haven't seen this season's CBS schedule for HD golf events yet. Wish NBC and ABC would commit to HD for their golf broadcasts.

That's great news. I agree. I wish all golf was filmed in HDTV.

If Fox can cover several football games in HD with HD sideline cameras, etc., you would think a network could cover their one golf tournament in full HD (rather than just the one shot from the 18th green as they go to commercial).

They should realize that their audience would increase. If the PGA is not willing to juice up their presentation by allowing one player to throw balls (better yet, a five iron) at the other player while said player tries to make a tee shot, then they should at least juice it up with pretty HD.

Tnx for the Masters HD coverage info. Maybe NOW my wife will approve the purchase of the new set. How can she deny me The Masters in HD? Of course, her standard line is "we already have a nice TV (32" Sony SD.)"

Maybe I should find out how timh got his HD to be "wife approved!" :)

Lurf and guys:

Thanks for the info; all 4 days in HD??!!, so we don't have to suffer thru SD (Thurs/Fri) on USA?!

NBC has lost my viewing; I'll watch Nascar on Fox (true HD) rather than watch NBC's feed on golf; and I'm a golfer, not a pistonhead.

I love seeing the actual grains of sand in the traps;

Either The Masters was made for HD, or HD was made for The Masters!

One of the true questions to the meaning of life.

Just lucky I guess. My wife really does appreciate the PQ
and still gets the "wow" factor when watching HD content.

She thinks HBO's Carnivale is by far the most impressive.
The scene where the guy was tarred and feathered was
absolutely incredible PQ
