Best TV for DVD and SD feeds?

Another noob question....of the 50-52" models, which has the best picture quality for standard definition broadcasts and DVD. I think mostly I will be using the TV for DVD's and the quality for that is essential.

DVDs look absolutely incredible on my 52in. JVC. SD broadcast
varies greatly with the quality of the channel being broadcast.

All high-def is converted to 720p and for 720p HD it is has one of
the best pictures I have seen ( the best, in my opinion ... ).

Quality of SD images depends on quality of the signal (digital SDTV is much better) the quality of the tuner, and the quality of the upconversion chip.
