SA Explorer 8300HD distorted image

When I watch an HD Channel some of the shows display with small horizontal flickering particles across the top and stretch throughout the size picture. This usually happens when a non HD show (commercials too) is broadcast on an HD channel. If I turn to a standard channel the picture looks fine. I also noticed that some shows have a bright orange line down the very edge of the screen. Im 100% its my SA Explorer 8300HD box. Has anyone else had these problems? What are some of the things I can do to fix this problem? I was freaking out thinking its my tv [samsung 46" lcd] but my father has the same tv but he has direct tv (i am on time warner cable) and he does not have any of the problems I am experiencing. Should I trade in my cable box?

if you trade in your box you are going to get the same thing on the next one. These 8300 are not good at all, but yes this happens to me about once a week, sometime I reset the box (unplug and restart) and usually that solves the issue or i just watch it until it stops. TW boxes are really bad and they need to figure out how to get us a better one.

Is this what TWC uses???

I have to wait 2 and a half freaking weeks for them to switch out my current SD box because I didn't know they would just give you an HD one if you have an HDTV.

I wish I could just have them drop the box prefer this because I don't want some guy just throwing my stuff that's on the TV stand around.

My luck I will wait the 2 and a half weeks and have a problem and not be able to have them come for another 2 and a half weeks.

1. 2 and a half weeks is not really a bad wait.
2. They wont "just give you an HDTV box" you will have to lease it and pay for HDTV service.
3. Most cable cos. won't let you do the install yourself for their own protection.
4. Just open up a space for the new box, that's what I did. The installer never had to do anything except plug the new box in. Oh, and the installer may have an extra one on his truck in case the first one doesn't work.

1) Mystro software is the problem, not the 8300HDC box
2) In my area (NC) you can go to a Time Warner kiosk in local mall, pick up a box, and install it yourself . . . it's pretty easy.
3) I haven't used any other DVRs, but I can't imagine any of them being worse than Mystro/8300. Avoid at all costs :(

I noticed that the orange line only comes down on NBC. And just now I noticed when i changed the source on the tv and back to the HDMI that it will clear the picture to the "correct" display.
