I have a motorola dvr with a composite input and hdmi output.
Currently the hdmi output is going to a Samsung TV. I am looking ot connect a dvd player to the composite input and use teh cable box hdmi output to send the signal to the TV. Looking to connect it this way since the HDMI cableis the only cabling going to the TV behind the wall from a remote closet where the cable box resides. Any ideas?

Thanks

That's not possible. All of the A/V connections on the back of the box are outputs, except the RF input of course.

I don't really understand your question, but I'll take a few guesses.

There is no way (or reason for that matter, even if there were a way) to run the output of the dvd player into the STB (STB=cable box).
So scratch that idea.

In order to get the best performance from both the STB and the DVD player, they must both be connected directly to the TV using either HDMI or component cables . . . no way to run one through the other.
If you had a receiver, you could certainly run both the STB and the DVD player into the receiver and then to the TV, but that's a different story.
