help with new system/subwoofer

01-18-2008, 09:33 AM
Hello, I have just purchased a Denon avr1908 and Klipsch quintet III speaker system. I have a RCA sw200p old 200watt subwoofer I was going to use instead of spending the extra cash on a new one (kind of spend my budget on the receiver/speakers). The question I have is how to properly hook up the subwoofer to this system. All I get out of the subwoofer is either a low droning sound or wall shaking bass, there is no inbetween. I was only using the red/white connetion on the subwoofer. Help and advice is greatly appreciated...thanks in advance, Joe

are you connection the subwoofer to the "subwoofer out" single RCA connection on the Denon ? You should be able to run an audio cable from the "subwoofer out" to the "low level in" connector on the subwoofer. Adjust the gain on the subwoofer control panel to get a good level for listening.
