Just got my Panny 50 DLP

After a one year period of painstaking research and countless hours on the web and in TV stores, I finally pulled the trigger and bought the Panasonic 50 inch DLP last week. This whole process is so confusing and I feared that I would get it in my home and find some reason to be disappointed, but not true. The picture was absolutely awesome right out of the box! There is absolutely no glare on the screen (I used to have a lot with my old Mitsubishi). Sound was great, but I eventually connected to my new Yamaha receiver, which is much better. Turn the lights out and the screen appears to float. I do hear the fan noise when the volume is down, but nothing I cannot live with. My only real complaint after 4 days of watching HD material; once you get used to watching HD, you can't stand watching SD anymore.

HDTV owners find themselves discriminating what they watch...not by the quality of the content, but by the quality of the picture.

I agree with that. I suppose I could get tired though of watching the Earth Sunrise show :)

One woman commented that her husband, who hates soap operas, was enthralled by whatever the one is that's in HDTV... it really is a more 'immersing' experience, the word 'captivating' comes to mind...
