2 Tvs from 1 tuner?

01-10-2008, 11:12 AM
Hey guys. I did a search of the forums and didn't come up with anything, so I figured I'd ask.

I have an HDTV downstairs in the den and will be buying another for the living room upstairs. I don't want to pay Comcast an extra $19.95/month for another tuner/dvr. I wish to set it up so I can run both tvs off of one tuner/dvr. Has anyone done this? I have been looking into the RF repeaters for the remote side and fishing the cables through walls is no problem for me. I just need to know what will work. Can I get an HDMI splitter and run an HDMI cable through the wall? Will a 30' run weaken the signal too much?

Ideas?? Suggestions?? Experiences??

Thanks in advance guys.

Get the cable and a good spliter dont get a cheap spliter it wont work well . First lay out the cable dont drill any holes yet hook up the spliter and the other tv even if you have to set it in a hallway and see how it looks . if happy start snaking cable Myself i have a 50Ft HDMI from my player to my tv It goes up the wall across the ceiling and down to the set no prob with sig .I have a Sony s300--Tosh A2--and a Denon DVD running through a Sima HDMI switcher --check here--for other options http://www.monoprice.com/home/index.asp
