I have a couple of question for those of you who do. We already have digital cable w/ the motorola box. We get OnDemand, and HBO and Starz, or showtime, cant remember which. Well When I hit info on many of these channels including ESPN,SPike, Fox, History, etc. it says HD in the left corner, but its obvious they're not. So I called mediacom about an HD box, but they said I'd only get a few channels w/ it. So why do these shows say HD if I cant get them? Or will I be able to recive all those channels that say HD if I get an HD box? Also Would I still get the OnDemand and HBO/Starz?
Thanx for your help.

On Janurary 1st, Mediacom is supposed to take ESPN HD and ESPN2 HD off the HD package. If your TV has a QAM tuner you should be able to get the local channels plus ESPN and ESPN2 in HD. If you get a HD box, you will get the same channels plus any movie channels you have in HD, along with the program guide.
Mediacom is supposed to add about 30 HD channels next year (2008). I think that's what your seeing in the programming guide (A&E, DSC, USA, FX , TLC etc.). Mediacom does not have any On-Demand HD at this time. Direct TV has announced locals in HD for eastern Iowa for early 2008. I will consider switching at that time.

My tv guide says HD too. I suspect that somewhere these channels are HD. But that does not mean your cable company has them. Its all over. I am in Seattle and have Comcast. Someday.
