I have a Motorola DCT2224/1661 cable box (provided by Charter), a Sony DVD player / video cassette recorder combo (model number SLV-D350P), a Sony liquid crystal TV (model number LC-20AV7U) and a JVC audio / video receiver (model number RX-5060B). The cable box, receiver and DVD / VCR combo have optical ports, but the TV does not have an optical port. None of the components have HDMI ports, but there is a female port on the back of the cable box labeled "data". This port has 5 "holes" above and 4 "holes" below. I am having problems connecting all of these components, especially to the Charter cable box. Can anyone help?

It appears that your only option is video (component, S, or composite) and regular stereo (red/white) connections from the box to the TV. If you want digital audio then you need to run the optical connection to a receiver that can handle it.
