First off, what is your HD source ? ...... cable, satellite, over-the-air ???

The Bose unit processes the digital HD sound, so why do you need to sent that "back" to the TV ?

If you really do need to send the digital sound "back" to the TV, then consider a digital coax cable (your 28 seems to have both digital coax in's and out's ) or just a long optical cable.

Find the length cable you need:

If it's not upconvert (that is, does not have HDMI output), composite would be the worst that you you could use.
If the dvd has component outputs, use them; if it has S-video, use that.
The order being:
composite - bad
S-video - better
component - best
