Samsung 4061F 40"

Got this TV last week and very happy with it.
However, the people look somewhat fat, and I think I need to squeeze both sides of the screen in just a bit, but I can't figure how to do it. Also, watching ESPN last night the ESPN log is only half visible. I tried reading the book and all that, and I thought I had hit on it with an adjustment to the EDGE but not good.

Any help please ?

Thx

Back to the User Manual.

Your TV is set to "stretch" mode.
Check the display mode section, and select "normal" or whatever they call it.
Also make sure that the TV is set to 16:9 display.

I've now got it set to Normal 1080 and great pic. But when I switch to non HD channels it looks like it's in 4:1 mode and doesn't feel up the screen.

I think you mean 4:3.
And, yes, that is how all 16:9 sets display SD programming (note, also, if the SD is being braodcast in "widescreen" you will also have black bars at the top and bottom as well as the sides.

So if I have my HD settnigs set perfectly, then when I switch back to a non-HD channel, it's going to look like the 4:3 aspect ?
And the book says don't stay on that aspect too long as it could burn into the screen.
Thx

That's right, now you've got it.

Don't worry, it's a LCD, so there is no issue with that.
