42" Panasonic or the 42" Toshiba Regza?

I have narrowed it down to these two. both are 1080p and they both look extremely impressive. This set is mainly for the kids room, and they will be using the PS3 ALOT!

So, I leave it in your hands... Plasma, or LCD?

If it is a plasma set you want go with Panasonic but if it is a LCD set you want go with the Toshiba.

The Panny is awesome and has a proven record of being awesome of the last few model years. The Toshiba looks great on the sales floor, (looking it as we speak). I beleive its a good tv and it will be great for gaming, but the panny will be better for sports. hope it helps, its a tough call.

I love my Toshiba Regza 42 inch. I am on cable, and sometimes I have to recheck to make sure that what I`m watching is not an HD channel. So clear, so perfect. Not all channels are so sweet, but most are--and the HD channels are just awesome.!! I am only biased because I only own the 2 newer Toshiba`s --one a 26 inch connected just to the cable outlet, and the big one to my HD box. You have to make up your own mind, but I would strongly suggest you take home the Regza, plug it in, and then if you don`t lilke it ---Take it back. I don`t see how you could do any better, specially for Sd programming. Let`s face it most big screens suck at that. but not this one.

The decision is really up to you. Both of the TV's you listed are exceptional. If you can't decide which technology to go with then the best thing to do would be to compare them side by side with all other things being equal and choose which looks best to you. And since the kids will be using it for gaming, the Toshiba has a slight edge.

For heavy gaming, with lots of static images on the screen for long periods-- I'd also give the edge to LCD over plasma. This opinion is from a dedicated Panasonic/Plasma fan-- but I do not play games on the plasma.

I think I found a winner...

Toshiba 42" Regza LCD HDTV
+ add accessories $1199.99

Circuit city has it for this price. So, I know Sears will pricematch and knock 10% of the difference, which is $4-500 at this point. If I say to CC what my intentions are and see what they can do, ya think thry will go lower?? I know this probably gets asked a lot, but I'm jusy wondering some of the stories you all have when trying to bargain...

I work at sears and I hate to knock them, but see what CC will do for a price match because they will probably have the tv in-stock for you to take home that day. We have a poor supply chain and have low instock supply of alot of tv's (which loses me money daily in lost sales). Some store may not have pushed that set like I did so you may find it. two weeks ago it was $1250 plus $150 w/ a sears card which was a hell of a deal. Good luck, its a nice set.
