it can stretch if its coming thru component but not hdmi. and that sucks because my dvd player is hdmi and my dvd player doesnt stretch. its zoom feature makes everything soom so the sides get cut off also. am i missing something or it doest do that on hdmi?

I have the 6187, same tech as yours. I've only had it a week, so I'm no expert, but I see the same thing. The options for aspect are different for component and HDMI. I have a HDMI cable box and component DVD. I forget right now which can do what, but I know they have different things in the list as you step through 'Psize'.

Have you checked the picture types in the menu there should be a setting for Panoroma which is better than Zoom. Unless your DVD player is an HD you will not lose anything by using the component inputs
