I'll say it for everyone else here: Panasonic.

Outside of Pioneer, they make the best plasma sets.

Where did u find the Panny that cheap?

I want one so bad, I got the Hitachi from BB last week but I am not happy with it. Anyone know of a better price then 1399?

Careful of online dealers. The best price is not always the best choice. That is below wholesale cost on that TV, so be weary. I simply can't believe that online retailers get that TV for less than B&M stores.

From Broadway Photo.

They have over 5000 reviews & are rated a 5 star merchant.

If this was an Amazon retailer would you trust them?

Hello, kind of new here. I have a bit of knowledge about the 50px77u as I looked it up and was torn between the 75u and 77u.

Since black friday up to the end of this weekend the price of the 75u has been lowered a bit but no less than 1400, frys had it for 1199 plus shipping.

the odd thing is that the 77u is a step up model and it's being discounted more than the 75u. a local store called Sound Advice had it as a black friday sale for 1399 (down from 2099) and they only had like 5 of them.

I looked up the tv online and found that crutchfield had the best deal for 1399, like 3 other online stores had it for that price but crutchfield had an offer I couldn't pass up. 1399 total, no taxes and it included your choice of any mount they offered including the one that does the tilt swivel which sells for $450 in best buy, it also has the white glove delivery (they take it inside the house, take it out of the box and put it in place). they had some many orders for it that they took the item off the site for now. I was told that they took a lot of pre-orders and they stopped selling because panasonic couldn't guarantee when they would have them. The mount I mentioned is also sold out currently, they still have the regular and tilting one.

so, my advice is be aware and on the lookout for deals, end of the year is the best time and it doesn't have to be black friday:banana:

you should call them. they must have a 1800 number, I have dealt with newegg and butterfly photo as far as online fairly unknown retailers..

crutchfield is awesome. they have a live chat and they answer all your questions.

i'd say you get in contact with them. it's a good deal.

If you cant afford a Pioneer the go with the Panny....most reviewers and customers agree Pioneer first, Pannasonic a close second...

to bastardize a quote from a movie...."the Samsung couldn't hold the Panny's Jock Sweat"....Assuming the Panny was wearing a Jock and Sweating at one time....either way the Panny is a better set...

Panasonic have the BEST Plasma HDTV's in the industry IMO. Price/Performance is unmatched. Samsung should stick with LCD's :D

I got the 50" panny on black friday for 999.97. It is a great looking set. Maybe the price will come down a little closer to the BF price after the holiday. I would have even paid 1599 for this Plasma but the salesman at Boscov told me of the sale and I decided to wait the 2 weeks to get it and save 600 bucks.

Most all mfgs. make plasmas to cover the market. Like many more are now making LCD (non-projection).
Sammy's strongest product is still DLP, not LCD IMO.
So far it seems Panasonic has been able to capture more videophiles and at attractive prices when it comes to plasma.

Now I have found a deal of $1699 for the Sammy 4665F LCD.

I have concluded for plasma I would go w/ the 77U, but now I have this choice to make!!

Not much of choice between a Sammy and a Panny in the plasma world . . .

Rated by who? Many e-retailers submit phony reviews of themselves and apparently pay to get high ratings with certain "trusted" sources. It is difficult to trust any site now a days which rates merchants.

I happen to have dealt with Broadway Photo this year. When looking to purchase a DLSR they had the lowest advertised price by far. When I called them they told me the advertised price was for a gray market item with no mfrs warranty. Their price for the real US retail version with mfrs warranty was the same as the most trusted retailers, I did not purchase from them.

Scams abound online, at least Broadway admitted what they were actually selling, many do not.

Circuit City and Costco are selling Vizio 50" plasmas for around $1250. The picture looks great to me. Vizio now the #1 selling flat screen LCD/plasma manufacturer in the country according to latest industry reports.
