Sony KDF50E2000 Lamp Hours

11-26-2007, 04:13 PM
I just had a repair on my Sony KDF50E2000 and the repair man said that there is a lamp hours counter in the TV. How can I access this to see how many hours are on the bulb and check how many times the TV has been turned off and on. I read somewhere about a remote code to get to the service screen. Does anyone know how to get to this screen and if it will display the lamp hours and on/off counter? Thank you for any information!

You need to get into the service menu, not something recommended for the less technical.
I have a routine, but it's for an older Sony display. Might be a disaster to use it on a different and newer model. Then again it might do nothing.
Might check for more technical info on your model. Look up the 'rear projection' forum there.
That's where I found mine.
In more general terms, you can figure about 2000 hours a year for set operated an average of 6 hours a day.
