Mitsubishi WD-52628 picture questions

11-23-2007, 10:32 AM
Hey all, I'm not very knowledgable when it comes to tvs, so I'm hoping someone here might have an idea. My dad has a mitsubishi wd-52628 tv. My brother recently plugged his laptop into the s-video to show us some pictures on the tv. As far as I can recall, that is the last time the tv was used. So last night we turned on the tv to find some problems. Firstly, there is constant sort of flicker to the picture. It's not severe, but is definitely noticable, especially if the picture is light. Secondly, the colors are messed up. The best way I can think to describe it is if you were to set your graphics card to 16 colors or something, so instead of smooth gradients you are getting blocky transitions.

At first I thought it was just the signal, but it is effecting the hd antenna as well, and the problems persist when I switch to the dvd player. So it seems that the problem is in the tv itself. I've gone through all the settings I can find and don't see anything that will help it. My only guess is that somehow the computer sent a surge or something and zapped something.

Does anyone have any ideas? I don't even know where to start looking online for help. My dad is going to call the tech center, but they haven't proved very useful in the past. Any help at all would be appreciated.
