HD DVD is for any display 720p or higher. Doubtful you would see much of an improvement with the same sized 1080p display as you have with your same sized 720p. Full hd is 720p or 1080i, 1080p 'full hd' is more of a marketing thing, though bigger displays (60"+) might benefit from the greater resolution.

1080p would not make a difference unless you have a 50" or larger. heck even a 50" is maybe if you got a trained eye.

Now's a great time to get into HD DVD. I think the HD-A3 is available for $200 at Sears. There's another thread on this. You'd get 2 movies in the box plus 5 by mail. It also won't run off your 360, which is a good thing.

And you can ignore the post about blu-ray. I have a 720P projector (92" screen) and both the HD DVD add on, Toshiba HD-A2 and PS3. All 3 players look the same. I honestly can't say there is any difference between the two formats when talking about PQ or AQ.

HD DVD is a much better value right now.

gotta love the awsome advice from a sony pipe waxer. now that is a person with advice you can trust.

now what makes the ps3 better? what technical specs make it better? what specific parts in the ps3 make it better for gaming? why is bluray better for gaming (if you come with storage then man do you have a world of learning ahead of you)? how does bluray make it "such a dirrerance"? are you talking picture quality because bluray does nothing for gaming and looks no different then HD DVD.

now if by some miracle you can answer these questions then why should we trust your opinion over many game reviewers, multiplatform developers (because you can't trust exclusive devs from either console), engineers, and your every day multi console owners who are saying the exact opposite?

sorry nice try, if you wish to stick around this forum then maybe you should learn a thing or two before posting stuff like this.:haha:

I have a Samsung 768p TV and the X360 HD-DVD player works perfectly. When comparing it to my HD-A1, I cannot tell any difference in picture quality at all. This garbage about full HD 1080p that we keep hearing and reading about in advertisements is just that. Officially, anything 720p or higher can be considered to be true full HD.
