New Upgrade Question

We just upgraded our system a few days ago to get HD. We have a H20 receiver, and 5LNB Slimline Dish. Several times we have heard a sputtering sound, the picture goes out (sort of) and the sound is lost, then it kicks back in again. Is this normal? Should I take Directv's protection plan? I do not know if the receiver was new or refurbished. Directv set up the installation.
Thanks

What channels are breaking up, OTA, SD, mpeg2-HD, mpeg4-HD? Check your signal strength readings for 101 (SD), 110/119 (mpeg2-HD), and 103b (mpeg4-HD). Most of the transponders should be above 80.

:)DTV should replace the reciever for free within the first 90 days of installation, same goes for dish alignment or anything connected with the installation. It is a waste of money during the first 90 days to pay for the protection plan as you are covered anyhow.

Thank you for the fast replys to my problem. I will start making a list of how many times and on what channels the breaking up appears, then post back.
The signal strength seems to be really good. 101 = 97% 110 = 95% 119 = 100% 103b = 95%
It is really good to know there is a 90 day warranty on the receiver, dish, and installation.
BTW, our installer and the folks at Directv were wonderful. I wish I had of called for the upgrade sooner. We love the new HD picture!
Thanks
