Samsung LN-T4053 or LN-T4061? You make the call!

Dear high-tech peeps,

I have a question pertaining to two 40-inch Samsung LCDs:

Is there any compelling reason to buy the LN-T4061F (a 1080p unit) over the LN-T4053H - if the 4053 can be had for about $400 less?

I've seen a lot written here about how it takes a screen larger than 40 inches to appreciate the detail of 1080p. So would the 4061 be worth the extra cost?

Thanks for your time and feedback!

if money is not an issue go for 4065F, 4065 has glossy screen for better coontrast. at 40 inch 1080P is not big factor.

glossy screen for better coontrast.

ha, ha, yea, with a glossy screen you can see the racoons much better on the nature channel.

I take it he meant contrast (!) Bill, good thing that, unlike me, you ignored the other implication of the typo...

iserum - You asked if money is an issue? Sort of. That's why I noted that the 4053 can be bought for several hundred less than the 4061. And I think the 4065 is a couple hundred more than the 4061.

So, for $600 or so less than the 4065, the 4053 seems like a better deal. A lot of what we watch is sports and cable news, with occasional movies. So I'm thinking the 4053 at $1,100 (Fry's) is a good deal.

I mean, do I really want to be that up close and personal with Greta Van Susteren??

I think you are correct, for the price difference go with the 4053. I have the LNT 4053 and it's a very nice set. Fry's price is great. So I'd go with it. The contrast is excellent so don't worry about that.

Thanks. I appreciate the recommendation.

And good to see contrast spelled correctly!
