Come on guys, tomorrow I am going to buy a larger TV. The wife has caved in. Bigger TV for the rec room, not so much time in my (smoking room). more time together, better for my health. She is on side. The Toshiba 42HL67 is my prize. Sitting about 10-11 feet away. All I can say is I love my little one. Toshiba LCD 26 inch. Okay, I have to confess, yea, I`m a Canuck and the price in our dollars is $1400. But, hey, our buck is worth more than yours at the moment:lol: So if I dont hear any contrary views, this old boy is going to stirke tomorrow. Oponions please. and no sarcasism.

Hey, thanks for responding. Aspirin working?

Yea, for a $100 admin fee, I can buy it now, and pay for it next January. So, I just quit saving. Think the interest only works out to be about 0.75%. My money keeps working for me, and I use theirs. This is one of those 15 months no interest, no payments deals;done this in the past, and I guess those people probabably hate me, cause they dont make much off me. Just cause we retire, doesn`t mean we get dumber.. I know , prices will probably drop, dont care, just want to enjoy that stuff now, specially when my kids still come home , like for Xmas and want to watch Hockey, and rent movies. ;)

I just don`t see any negatives in this purchase, and I know that you are the kind of person that puts alot of thought into this kinda stuff, and yea, I`m directing this to Billprincton. Where is that anyway? I`m thinking of Princton Ontario? No matter, love your advice "strike while the iron is hot".. Yep, gonna do that tomorrow. Just hope that the wife doesn`t read this forum:lol:

Same here, I've used the no interest a few times - saves a few $$, spreads out the pain, and is a great "feel good" option.

It has been said, if we keep waiting for prices to get lower, we just keep waiting and never enjoy. I'm sure your kids will be delighted as well - so it's a win - win - win.

Sorry, New Jersey.

I get the impression from your musings that she rather likes the new set(s) as well. They do look much nicer than the old CRT "boxes".
Don't forget to casually comment, after the set is installed, something like . . . "wow, most beautiful thing I've ever seen . . . besides you, m'love of course".

Went to the Brick today and bought the 42HL67 for $1398, and the same set is $1699 at Future Shop (best buy). A steal of a deal. The reason I don`t have it yet, is cause the "better half" is adamant about picking out the stand:haha: So will have to wait till tomorrow morning on her day off to go and get it, and the stand she picks out.I feel like a kid again on Xmas morning.:yippee:

I don't know how it works with buying online in Canada with Amazon in the US, and I'm certainly not trying to rain on a parade, but Amazon has it for $999:

Again, just trying to help you find the best deal.

Yea, but then you have to factor in shipping and insurance costs. I just feel more comfortable buying from the store down the road. Isn`t that Future Shop price horrible? Right now us Canucks are totally pissed with the retailers here in Canada, our buck is worth $1.01 US, and we still have to put up with insane prices! :banghead:

Alright, good deal then. I also will pay a few more bucks for peace of mind.

ENJOY THE SET MAN!!! :yippee:

Better pick up an HD DVD or Blu-ray player to go with that 1080p so you can show the kids what it can really do......
