They did a test run last week on channel 231-1 (which I believe will be the actual channel when it comes out). I have a feeling it will come out sometime this week along with HGTV-HD (that is just my opinion, nothing based in fact).

They have to start beefing up their rollouts if they're gonna hit 70 by the end of the month. Tomorrow might be a major launch, although I think the last Wednesday of October will be the big one.

It's puzzeling how bad DTV is being at informing there existing and potential subscribers about which channels are up and how to add them to their favorits menu.

I imagine that FoodTV is going to be HD-lite as well.

I highly doubt that Emril is being filmed with HD, so what content are they going to show in HD?

From what I've read from people who already have it on cable or whatever, the pq is excellent. Right now they're just showing those extended commercials.

I have FoodNetworkHD on Comcast and must say that the PQ is outstanding. Giada's Everyday Italian......WOW. She is gorgeous in glorious HD! :eyecrazy  :eyecrazy

Everything on Food Network HD will be in HD. They aren't doing a simulcast. The channel will be devoted to HD programing.

And FYI...HD lite refers to resolutions, not the amount of HD programing that is on a channel. :)

Just watched a few minutes of Giada's Everyday Italian and I agree, both the pq and Giada are gorgeous. She can eat baked ziti off my stomach any ol' day

YES! Giada in HD. Now it's all worthwhile. I'm serious.

Giada is a hot-a!
