Help with Mitsu DLP settings

just got the 73833 Diamond series. But I can't get the picture to pop out crystal clear like my Sony LCD sets. There are 3 display modes- Brilliant, Bright, and Normal. I have it set to bright. Brilliant is to overpowering- maybe good for dealer showrooms with all the bright lights. Normal looks a little washed out. When set to Bright, on dark scenes I can see a little graininess in the blacks. If I turn down color and/or contrast to lose this, the color isn't as sharp. Plus there are settings for all the individual colors. Can anyone tell me how theirs is set up? I want what's best for Sports- mostly daytime viewing, in a darkened basement, but it has windows so it's not pitch black. So far I'm disappointed compared to the old Sony. Thanks.

Don't have time right now, to get into all my settings, but if you go to the "AVSforum" it's a very good "Mit 833 thread" there, and also a 2007 Mit Tweaks and settings Thread thats very good to get you started .

I have the 65734 but couldn't get my picture right with the settings on avs forum. Tried using the c-net settings with a bright temperature setting and am now in love wth my tv

I'm not thrilled with normal from AVS either. Can you post the "bright" settings or a link? thanks.

C-net settings are post on AVSforum (in Mit's thread),
most don't used the high temp setting (c-net used low temp setting), but you may like it.
