Okay, so in the ending, chief dies>
Why does it not cleary say he dies?
Now I am going to be wondering whether or not he is 100% dead.
Stupid thing.
Great game but the ending seemed to come short.

You have to watch past the credits.

Their ship that the Chief was on, Forward Unto Dawn, was caught halfway in the portal when it collapsed. The front half, where the Arbiter was, went on course to Earth. The rear half, where the Chief was, went somewhere else. (unknown where, possibly Onyx)

The final cutscene after the credits shows the chief and Cortana on the rear half of the ship heading toward some strange planet. Cortana says she'll send out a beacon, and in the most nostalgic of moments, as any story should end, (where it began) the Chief climbs back into his cryo chamber and says "wake me when you need me."

Wow, i'm glad to hear that the chief isn't dead. I'm only a couple hours into the game, and kept hearing from people that they killed John-117. I guess they wanted to open up possibilities for a sequel, although this is rather irritating as I was hoping for a conclusion to the entire Halo story as well as a conclusive ending to Master Chief's adventures. If anything, I was kind of hoping they would have tackled maybe a prequel to the original Halo although an open ending like this makes their intentions clear.

It does complete the story, but master chief says he available the next time he's needed.

One thing that would really be awesome is if the next game in the Halo series would be a launch day title for the next-next generation Xbox's. With the X360 nearing it's the end of it's 2nd year out in the market, the next generation Xbox is likely only 2-3 years away anyway.

I also can't wait for Halo Wars(a strategy game) as well as Civilisation revolution but both are slated for next year.

Well, seeing as how the 360 and PS3 have hardware that is so versatile, I'd say the next generation of systems is probably more like 4-5 years away.

Add to that the fact that devs are also just now realizing the potential for these systems....

You are probably right, but one can hope. The problem is that there is really only so much you can do with current consoles, which will continue to look continously inferior as cutting edge PC technology continues to outpace what current consoles can do. After all, there is really so much a developer can do when a console only has 512mb of system memory(or 256/256 on the PS3). The X360 has a marginally more powerful GPU, and the PS3 has a marginally more power CPU, but then again there is only so much that can be done there as well. I believe you are right because given the kind of losses both Microsoft and Sony have seen so far with their consoles, they are going to do what it takes to do something about it. Of course Nintendo isn't going to sit around and do nothing...........

Very true. But I think devs will figure out how to continually get more and more out of what they have. Look at Mass Effect. Such a huge game with jaw-dropping graphics. We can only hope, but I think we're on our way.......

A lot of it probably has to do with the technology of the Unreal engine. We've already seen what it can do with Gears of War which is the best looking game for any console so far. I guess the beauty of consoles is that you have only a single set of specs that you have to program and optimize for, so games on a console are probably going to be able to squeeze more out of a clock cycle than it ever will for pc's.

Hey guys just finished it and was not all that impressed with the last mission. It really did feel to easy for the end of such an epic trilogy. That said for a game that cost me 170 dollars with shipping to Lebanon I feel it was totally worth it but I do have a question. Is it me or did anyone think the game was hyping itself up even more then regular games do? :what:.
I know it sounds stupid and it could be my mind playing tricks on me but I did feel the game was really trying to dramatize everything to the extreme, not that I'm complaining I thought that was one of the best part of the game:banana: .

Back to the subject of future consoles I really think that since games are just starting to utilize the power of the consoles(BIOSHOCK:eek: ) this gen will have a resurgence especially when all the highly anticipated sequels are out the gate.
As for next gen launch I think its safe to say 2014 would be the time since the companies have really seen the effect of pricing this go around.
Next gen should launch in the 500 window price range guaranteed, Sony has really served as an example on this with the PS3.
