XBox signal over long runs of cable

I just purchased an xbox 360 to use on my Sanyo PLV-Z2 HD projection. I ran the wiring through the wall to an outlet just below the screen (about 12-15 feet). Yesterday I tried to plug the component cables into that outlet and the projector wasn't receiving any video, while my surround sound receiver was picking up the audio from the same cable. Has anyone heard of a problem with the Xbox sending signal over a long run like that? I tried the cable on a smaller TV upstairs and it worked fine. If there is a problem over long runs does anyone have any advice on how to remedy the problem?

Are you sure you set the xbox video output to a resolution the projector can handle?

I'll try that, although the projector already handles both HD and non-HD through the Comcast DVR that is currently hooked up. I would have thought that would have spanned the range of resolutions that the xbox defaults to out of the box.

Component video and audio do NOT run on the same cable.

What could you possibly mean??

The xbox proprietary cable comes out of the console with both the component video and the audio cables branching out of the same cable. Regardless, the problem lay in my projector, as it was not set to to the correct resolution.
