component problem

Hi, I just bought a component A/V cable for my PS2. I hooked it up and everything, and made sure my system was set to YPbPr. Well, when I started it up (with the TV set to it's ColorStream HD mode), there was no red at all in my picture. Also whenever sound played in a game I would get red horizontal static lines. Afterward I tried hooking up my new XBox 360 to the T.V. with it's own component cable and i got the same result. My TV's model is a Toshiba
23HLV87. Any ideas?

Make sure you not getting the red video and red audio cables mixed up. I doubt you did twice, but never know..

naw, i definitely didn't they're grouped together nicely on the cables so it's pretty clear which is which

i'm gonna try to hook the xbox 360 up to the tv with HDMI later today to see if i get good results so long as i can peel my brother off his halo 3, which will probably be near impossible

Yeah, I knew that was a long shot, especially since you did it twice. But you never know. Sounds like your component input is toast since it happens on numerous devices. I assume that is the only component input you have or you tried the others. What happen when you turn off Colorstream?

Try some different component cables, it would be very unusual for the component connections to not work.
