Whos gotten Heavenly Sword?

Just wondering who has purchased it yet or played it.. i finally had time and money to buy it on thursday.. i just started chapter 4. the game is awesome, almost everything i wanted it to be(key word: almost). it does feel short, i feel like im flying through the game, reaching chapter 4/5 in 3days. the graphics, art work and enviroments are truely breathtaking and the game has pretty much the BEST hands down facial character animation ever. the combat system is a ton of fun to use, better then kratos in god of war. everything is a A+ only for afew flaws..

pros
-technically, unreal superb facial character animations, excellent voice acting, great story telling(and overall good story), the game and story(telling) really draw you in and unreal draw distance

-super fun combat system thats easy to do and learn and looks amazing(in terms of animation and style)... i cant really understand why they (e.g. ign) say its a boring and repetitive combat system, i dont recall them saying that about god of war, and yet both are similar but nariko has more variety etc... in the beginning its very easy but as you progress, enemies get harder and tougher and you REALLY have to use strategy(knowing when to counter, which stance to use for blocking..etc..) instead of just button smashing.. i even tried button smashing and it gets me killed more and faster then actually thinking and using my nooggin lol.

-after touching is alot of fun!.. i like hitting the guys right on the crouch lol! and they actually react to it too.. so funny!.

cons
-yes, its short. though god of war was short and i know gears of war was short too, i beat god of war in a rental, it felt though longer cause of the different areas you go through and stuff, GoW probably took me a nice 10hrs where as i think HS i'll be lucky to squeez 7hrs. i think i'll have this beat by mid this week putting me at like 5days

-technically, there are some rare occasions of choppy frame rates, funny though cause it seems to have happen more so during a cutscene then during actual gameplay, try to figure that one out!?. and why do some(not all) cutscenes look like its a video playback? very odd..

-literally only 5different types of enemies.. though its impressive to see so many on screen.. its pretty much just copying over the same enemies... they should have included a much more variety of enemies..

average overall, i'd give it a 4/5. would have maybe been a 4.5 or 5/5 if it wasnt for the length and those ugly rare choppy frame rates.(which dont even come during fighting but yet during a cutscene!?! lol)... if you like DMC, and god of war type of games you are NOT going to be disappointed with this title!. other then that its without a doubt a must "check it out" at least even if your not a fan of this type.

I've got it and I think it's fantastic. Graphics are phoenomenal. It will look even better later this week when I sell my Samsung 42" plasma and pick up my Sony 46XBR3 from Best Buy. Good game. People also complained that GRAW 2 was too short. I disagree. Sounds to me Halo 3 is short. Who cares as long as you enjoy it.

I picked up Heavenly Sword and I think the game is awesome. Sure it is a little short but its better when a game leaves you wanting more as opposed to thinking "hurry up and get it over with." The facial animations are awesome, it is weird how subtle facial expressions lend to making the characters seem more realistic. I hope this is not the last we see of Ninja Theory.

I love short games. Problem is, I haven't found one short enough that I can actually beat. I swear, I have all these games and I haven't beat a damn one! I think I'm becoming more of a collector rather than a player. :(

LMAO, dont feel bad SOBAY, Im the same way. Out of all three consoles Ive owned, Ive probably had 50 titles, and Ive only formally completed 5. I think bioshock is the first ever game that I completed that seemed like it was excessively short (though, from what Ive read, its length was considered average). Other games Ive completed took much longer, and probably kept me playing to the end just because I couldnt put down the damn controller....but those games are rare (or have been for me anyway)

Yup, that's how I feel. And plus I like to devote time to my franchise/dynasty's in the sports games I buy. Tie that in with the fact that I only play after the family is sleeping and there's not mystery as to why the games I buy are piling up.

You think Bella will notice if I start puting her to bed around 5p? I can just picture laying her down in bed and she says, "But Daddy, the sun is still up and the kids outside are still playing."

haha.....unfortunately some peeps in this world do have their priorities screwed up in that way.

Anyways, Eddie, get Warhawk. With no campaign mode there is no guilt of not finishing it. It's by far the most fun gaming experience I've had online. Hope to see you on!

I'm in the same boat, there are a lot of games on my shelf that I have yet to complete. Heck, I just beat Halo 2 last night!!

:D i'm starting to know the feeling. there are not many games i actualy beat anymore. i look at it like i play more for enjoyment now then the comp.. when i was younger i used to sit there and play till a game was beat (when i wasn't playing baseball, football, or basketball leagues). now i just enjoy playing and if i dont beat it i think to myself did i atleast have fun playing it. usualy the answer is yes and i keep that game around until i decide to pick it back up again.

i at least beat gears of war and i most likely wont beat Halo because i will spend so much time online with it.

You should just try downloading it. That's how I got it and it is an awesome game. I imagine I will be playing alot of Halo 3 for now though. But Warhawk is a blast!

I almost picked that up today, but I bought Bioshock instead. I thought it was a great idea though to package a headset with it. Might spur people into trying other games online.

omg, the headset is slick as f-king hell! destroys my stupid motorola HP300 piece of crap. the jabra one is much more stylish and matchs the Ps3. it also doesnt use AAA batteries, you charge it with a USB cord it comes with, how freaking sweet is that!!!! woohoo! just charging it right now, only takes 2hrs, then gonna pair it up. i played warhawk (alone) for abit just to get use to the controls again since after playing the beta back in like may. now that i got it, im going to take my time mastering it, i want to try using the motion controls for flight.

anyway back onto heavenly sword, correction: there more enemies then what i initially thought. in total theres 8 different enemy types.. which is just fine :D. you got the regular ones, ones with a hat that are tougher, ones with a larger heavier hat and armor that are even tougher, ones without a shirt, ones with arrows, ninjas, ones that are really big with a super large axe and guerilla type enemie.

I just beat the game.. total time: 6 days. not sure how many hours. but theres 6 chapers in total that range from 5missions per chapter up to 11 missions per chapter. the last boss was stupid hard, tried like 4 times to beat king bohan, he has 3 stages, but it was a awesome fight!. the best feature so far i like is controlling the arrows and cannons.. awesome! i got use to the aftertouch really good now and its super easy. im going back and getting all the glyph, i got 92/129, after that im going to try my hand on Hell mode. the story is also really good, but yes, the game is and feels short.. almost like a really long demo or something. i hope they add more content to this game or at least make a sequel, supposely the triology is already writen. overall, definitely a 4 out of 5. maybe not a must have for afew gamers, but definitely a must play.

now for some warhawk action :D
