I'm looking to hook my PC to my HD TV but I'm not sure if all PC cable are the same

I know I need the 15 pronged cable with male connections but I'm not sure if there's more to it than that. :what:

link a 6 to 10 ft PC that you'd recommend form monoprice.com

VGA is what you're talking about... which is an analog signal, not the best but should work. If you want a bit better image, you'll have to check and see if your panel supports 1:1 pixel mapping through digital and your graphic card supports digital output (usually DVI-D, but some are now using HDMI). Things get complicated fast, with the type of O/S, the graphic card limits, CPU to handle HD, overscan, custom drivers, and audio issues.

Monoprice is a good place to buy the cable.

Hi.

I didn't want to create another thread for essentially a very similar question.

I have recently bought a Sony LCD, 32 inch, which also has pc input. I have a laptop and intend on connecting it to the TV. Having read the TV's manual, I gather that the best connection would be of XVGA nature (higher resolution). So I've searched and searched the Internet (I'm from Romania, btw) for a XVGA 15 pin, male to male cable, but only found a SVGA cable (w.ww.sigmanet.ro/cat.php?id=113#")

Now, the question is: if I connect the laptop to the TV using the above mentioned cable (SVGA), will I have a svga resolution (800x600?) on the TV? Ideally, I'd like to use the TV's native resolution, or at least 1024x768 (XVGA cable)..

So, what should I do? I'm a bit confused and don't want to buy the SVGA cable until I'm sure that it can support resolutions higher than 800x600.

Thanks for the help.

Yep, they're all basically the same. Any of the Monoprice cables will work fine. Product # 87 on Monoprice should work just fine.

(I'd give you the URL, but since I just joined & haven't hit 5 posts yet...)
