Set 200 years in the future in an epic universe, “Mass Effect” places gamers in a vast galactic community in danger of being conquered by a legendary agent gone rogue. A spectacular new vision from legendary developers BioWare, “Mass Effect” challenges players to lead a squad of freedom fighters as they struggle against threatening armies to restore peace in the land. “Mass Effect” is the first in a trilogy of games with an overarching story, where the real conflict between organic beings and artificial intelligence comes to life in startling clarity.

As we’re nearing the Nov. 20 launch date for “Mass Effect,” we’d like to offer you a glimpse into the personalities of several key characters that you can enjoy until you can get your hands on the game. Check out a new video profiling key characters that players will encounter in “Mass Effect,” such as the powerful Krogan battle master Urdnot Wrex, Alliance military Captain David Anderson, the Quarian nomad Tali’zorah Nar Ray Ya and the mysterious Turian Spectre Nihlus. All footage in the video is taken directly from the game, and you’ll get to see a sampling of scenes for each character that showcase their personality.

Meh..we will see.. The trailer seems too much like a space soap opera to me. But hey Battlestar had a following ;)

that alien with the painted face sure had an odd voice for what he looked like. i definetly didnt even realize who was talking for a few seconds. they should have given him a deep or crazy alien voice with a face like that.

i'm semi interested in this game but that could change as i learn more about it. seems to have a cool idea with having multiple options with how players respond to questions and situations. i hope these are just b.s. types of responses where they dont change any part of the game. i love when you can go through a game then play it again but take a totaly different path. like taking the good guy path the first go around then being the pissed off who gives a shat type of person the 2nd time around.

The game is supposed to have outcomes depending on how you respond to questions, and they dynamically change depending on how you respond. The other interesting feature is the battle system, you have a choice of either engaging in a turn based battle like a traditional RPG, or going completely real time making it play like a shooter. Bioware is the dev responsible for Knights of the Old Republic so I am anxious to see how this game turns out.
