“…in fact, Realtime Worlds isn't working on a sequel at all, Wilson confirmed.”

"Microsoft were a little late in stepping up to the plate to ask for Crackdown 2, and by then we had already started working on bigger, better things."

This could potentially end up being pretty awesome. I would like to see multiple players in a single world, more gangs, more cities, more MMO.

That sucks, but I guess i'm one of the few people that really loved Crackdown and still plays it right now. Oh well, let's see what else they have up their sleevs.

Crackdown was a mediocre game IMHO.

Graphics were mediocre, but feeling like God, scaling buildings, blowing crap up and the achivements went way farther then I imagined.

Every once in a while I throw it in just for fun.

I don't get the negativity about it really...
Most of the compliants I heard were people comparing it to GTA, which is a silly thing to do IMO.

It wasn't perfect, but I had a great time playing it.
Hanging from window ledges trying to scale skyscrapers was a blast.
I also spent a good deal of time standing on the side of the freeway overpasses shooting out tires and watching the cars go flipping through the air, smashing into each other and flying over the railing.
Complete mindless fun at its best!

I for one am very surprised and dissapointed that there is no sequel in the works, I have a few friends who will be as well...

Well said. Couldn't have put it better myself.

That's exactly why I love Crackdown so much. It's great playing as a character that isn't simply human, but superhuman and free to create as much mayhem as possible. You have no idea how satisfying it is to get into a heavy duty vehicle like the Agency SUV and just start mowing innocent people down.
