Multiple problems need some advice

Alright first time poster here and in dire need for some help.

1.Got a new 37in Samsung flat panel LCD(Model LN-T3732H)
2.Upgraded to HD service from Comcast
3.Started out first by trying the component cables they provided with the new HD reciever they gave me.... Hooked up everything correctly and my TV wasn't getting any signal.
4.Called Comcast got the run-around and BS for about 30mins and recommended that I try DVI-to-HDMI cables since the component cables werent working. Note:The HD box only has DVI, component and S-Video connections on the back. Doesn't have a direct HDMI output connection on the back.
5.Went to Best Buy and bought a DVI-to-HDMI cable and an optical audio cable.
6.Got home hooked everything up correctly and got signal, but the signal was going in and out about every 2-3 seconds.

I need to know what in the world to do about this? Is this a problem with my HDTV or the cable box provided?

1) Hooking the cable directly to the TV to see what you get.

2) If you have a DVD player or a VHS player, try hooking it up to the TV with the S-video to see what you get.

If you get picture with both of these, then it is the comcast box.

If you don't get picture with either of these (and you have selected the correct input on the TV), then it is a bad TV.

Ended up being the box, going to Comcast to pick up a new one.... thanks for the help anyways:thumbsup:
