Trying to sell my Hitachi 57" HDTV few ?'s

I bought a new Sony LCD and am trying to unload my big screen. The problem is that I have idea what to ask for this thing. I bought it just under 2 years ago, it was $1800 when I bought it, and it was about $250 for the component stand that I bought with it. The TV is in perfect condition, and has a great HD picture, and it is a WS. I told my friend that I'll let it all go for $1000. He says that is way to high, and that he can go buy a new big screen at walmart for less than that. Am I asking ot much, or is my friend just a moron? Thanks

TV's of this type and generation get about $ 400.00 to $ 600.00. You can buy a new rear projection for $ 900.00 and sometimes less.

Loves2watch is right.. It'll be tough for you to to get $1000 out of your set unfortunately. What I would do it put it up on your local craigslist for maybe 800-900 obo and cross your fingers.

I am in the same boat with at 52" Ultravision perfect pic HD. I am getting the $1000 only because still have 2yrs left on ext warranty and doing payment plan. TV is 3yrs old. Thats the only reason i can get the 1k which was a hard sell, new sets tooooo cheap to compete with us upgraders out there. good luck...

Yeah, unfortunately even though I am almost positive that your projection set is of much better quality that anything comparable out right now, you probably cant get much more than 600-800 range, and to tell you the truth, you would be kinda lucky to get that. Here in town wal-mart has had sells with 52" rca HDTV projection sets for 700 bucks, one funny thing I remember is a sale they had on them after thanksgiving... they had 7 avaliable (one of the people I had to fix it for said she was waiting on them to open to buy one, they had told here they had 7) I had to fix 6 of them. lol.

Are those fingerprints on the upper part of the screen? Also, what city are you in?
