Mits 52725 Built-In Tuner Problem

Are there any Mits 725 series owners who have had problems pulling in unscrambled network HD channels from cable? Everything was working fine until yesterday (2/2) when I tried a re-scan to add the local Fox affiliate in San Diego. Now I get none of the HDs. The cable provider (Adelphia) doesn't admit any network problems, so I wonder if it could be the tuner with the problem. The interesting thing is that after the scan, the digital channels (6-1, 8-1, etc.) are present on the channel list (but with the 'deleted' box highlighted in the Antenna Menu). When I force the channel to be added, I get the correct name of the current program, but no picture. That makes me think it's not the tuner. Has anyone out there expeirenced similar issues with their built-in tuners? Any help is appreciated.

I have a Mits 525 and have had problems with the internal tuner similar to this. I am using an OTA antenna to pick up network channels; no cable connections.

When I first set up the OTA channels I deleted most of them except for the primary HD feeds from the networks. A few weeks later I suddenly had everything again; all of my edits were gone and I had 2)+ pages of channels instead of 6.

The real problem was when I went to edit again. I found a couple of channels that I couldn't get rid of. The deleted check box was selected on the antenna menu, but they still showed up in the channel list. This sounds just like your problem. Also, I couldn't go past one of these channels (it was 15-1) in the antenna menu! Even though there were several higher channels, the only way I could get to them was by going down from through 0 and then down through the higher channels.

I think it is a quirk of the tuner software/firmware. Does anyone know if there are updates available (or even possible?).

I was interested in your comment about not being able to scan past a certain channel. I had the same problem with my Mits 52525. It turned out the channel I could not get passed was the local PBS channel. I called them, they said they were having problems on there end. After a couple of days, I rescanned and it was OK. Moral to this story, don't assume the problem is with your TV.

I had the same problem here. My 52725 would hang up on Channel 34 out of Charlotte, NC. I contacted them and about two weeks later, they called me back to try to scan again and it was fixed. A few days later the exact same problem developed with NBC out of Winston-Salem. They haven't been as cooperative in looking into the problem. I bet your problem is related to the station, not your set.

here is a c&p post I did a few weeks back. I have had not problems since the firmware update - except the power outage which makes me think a APS/battery backup is necessary. the house has clean power, and i have a very good line condition on it, but if i have a brown out or lose power even for a few seconds the TV has problems.

Its been about 3 weeks since I had my WD-62725 and I love it - OMG. But I noticed a few bugs in the software so I called the Mitsubish with the number on their web site. I have a old firmware level and they are shipping me out a new version. The ACTULLY called me, and confirmed that they know of the problems.

Some of the problems that I know about:
-TV shutting off (I have not experienced)
-TV not turning on (you unplug it for about 30 sec and retry)
-NetCommand not responding (they said they are shipping new pgms).

Cheers, Rich
