HDMI Connection

I just purchased a 50" Samsung Plasma. I'm using three components. TV, set top box/DVR & surround sound w/DVD built in. I have the HDMI cable running from the set top box to the plasma. I also have an audio cable (L & R) running from the surround sound to the plasma. These components are all equipped with s-video, digital audio etc..

Have I optimized my package? Is there other hookups I'm not utilizing?

So you have you Sat STB connected to the plasma via HDMI. :yippee:
How do you have your DVD/SS player connecte to the TV. Also HDMI?:yippee:
Then you have your TV out to the SS via analog RCA? :(
That will work fine, but if your SS/DVD has any digital inputs (Toslink Coax) that would be better? Many of those SS systems with the DVD player built in don't however. But if you do, I would run that from the STB to SS. That would give you DTS/Dolby Digital for programs/movies that broadcast in them. :yippee:

Thanks for the quick reply Bigloww.

How do you have your DVD/SS player connected to the TV? Reply..the only connection from DVD/SS to the TV is the audio (analog RCA).
