Digital input question

I have an older Dolby digital preamp (Marantz AV550) and it has only two digital inputs - one coaxial and one optical. I want to add a third Dolby digital device. Do I just get a 2-into-1 RCA adapter and use the coaxial for two devices or is there a better way?

I would use a switch.

You have to use a switch. If you combine both digital input into 1 cable to the receiver you will have interference between the 2 digital signals.

I only imagined having one of the two turned on any one time. Where do I get a switch?

You can get a manual switch for like $10. 1 with remote for quite a bit more.

Thanks. That will take care of it.
