Wellll, truth be told, the HD version and the SD version (as being broadcast currently) are not near as different as you might think. This is a largely dark and brooding look & feel and they are extremely generous with grain, you'll see a lot of it. Indeed, the grain is probably a bit more noticeable in the HD version that the SD one.

Contrast it with the HD version of Enterprise now running. The SD and HD versions for THAT show do look very different. It's clearly lit way differently (full and even) and there almost no grain anywhere.

Still, I find it very good sci-fi drama and THAT is why I find it worth watching.
