Samsung hlp 5685w OR Panasonic PT60DL54
Hey, i dont know which to choose. I hear the samsung has better picture quality, but when i see the two next to each other, i really cant tell a difference, only the fact that the panasonic is 4 inches larger. Which should i buy? this bad boy will be mainly for watching tv and sports though. little bit of dvds. thanks

I have the Sammy HLP4663 and have no complaints. It max's out at 720p. but that has been good for me so far.

i don't know, i have found that the panasonic had better picture quality, sharper images, and more natural colour tones. I frankly prefer the panasonic. because in many ways i believe that it was the better tv. I took 3 months to decide which to get. At first, i was gonna go for the samsung, but after hearing the THOUSANDS of complaints about the HLP series tv's from a tech support friend of mine that works at samsung, i decided to go with the panasonic. And i am completely satisfied with it. Only complaint i have is the fan, it's too noisy, but i called the tech guy and he said he'd come and replace the fan. hope that solves the problem!

Also, my tech-support friend from samsung said that even he had the money to buy a high price tv, such as the ones samsung sell, he wouldn't! because he's been hearing so many complaints about the reliability issues that the repairman is running around every where across his region, non-stop.

Also, i heard that panasonic support is horrible, and their parts are really expensive, so i'd suggest getting an extended warranty.
