How to hook up tv to pc speakers - rca to mini

I'd like to hook up my tv (rca audio out (L/R)) to my pc speaker system. My PC speaker system just has one of those mini plugs that plugs into my sound card. Is there a male rca to male mini plug cable? would that work? is that all I'd need?

Presuming I can do what I want to do, then my second question is, is there a cheap way to swich the speaker system between my tv and computer - ie a switcher that takes the mini plugs.

Thank you,
Brian

1. Ya, there are adapters for absolutely everything. Radioshack or the like should carry them and yes it would work. As well, that's all your'll need. If you have a set of RCA cables and an extra 1/8th plug cable, you can make one up on it (provided you are trying to have audio coming from your comp and TV) but simply splice the RCA cables down onto the male 1/8" jack, then plug it into your microphone input on the computer.

2. Well, I guess my first part answered that, you'd have audio from both with the setup. Or just buy a dual-RCA male to 1/8" male cable instead of building one. you'll be able to access your volume control by right clicking on the little audio thing in the bottom right hand of windows. options>properties>microphone :yippee:
