I'll be in, or is it on, South Padre Island from Apr 26th to May 14th, 2007.

If anyone in the area from McAllen, Brownsville, Harlengen or SPI would like their displays calibrated, contact me soon to set up dates.

Good Viewing,

Doug k

Do you ever tour in Canada? Ontario to be exact like the Southwestern part of Ontario Windsor to Toronto kinda area?

I've never been in Ontario, the bride would love it as she speaks French fluently.

If there were a bunch to do together 7-10, then the travel costs spread out over those would be minimal per job.

I've another fine ISF tech for you to talk to here...

Michael Chen (aka michael tlv) may be heading your way anyway. Drop him a note and say Hi for me!

Thanks Doug I appreciate that I will drop him a line and see if he will be around this way as the one shop won't do the calibration and the other shop is now gone. So the appointment I had for 3 weeks from now is defunkt.

Chuckle, I think speaking French in Ontario would bring a lot of blank stares.

Doug, are you planning to be in the DFW area anytime ? If not, could you recommend someone ? Steve doesn't calibrate anymore.. :(

Also, if I may ask, I'm very confused deciding between these two [ I have both sitting in the living room ]

1) Sharp Aquos LC-60E77UN

2) LG 55LH90

I've ordered the S&M disc from Amazon, but I'm a complete amateur when it comes to calibration.

My question is, which TV has a superior PQ, or rather, would have a superior/truer PQ post calibration ? All I do is watch HD Channels and BR.. No gaming..

Thanks!!

The Sharp has decent controls with only the 1080p input allowing for partial cms control, not a huge deal.

I'm simply not a fan of the LG's. I've never seen one that is consistent for corner to corner nor do they have great reliability/construction.

Depending on the ambient room lighting and the large panels you are looking at, put a projector in the mix if applicable and perhaps a plasma fpd as well.

Sometimes I have to fly through DFW and could layover a day but I've nothing planned.

A "touring group" such as Avical might be a faster option and their tech "eliab" is one of the best.

I'll be in the RGV (Southmost Texas) for the Holidays, actually leaving on the 15th of November and returning after the 6th of January.

Calibration of a fixed pixel display is $225. + a buck a mile from Port Isabel Texas.

Happy Thanksgiving, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all of my friends here!

Again in the RGV for 2 months.... man I love it there!

Starting 3/1/2013 I will be available for full cals or basics and even phone consultations. Learning tex-mex... por favor. Press 13 on the phone. Just kidding.

Doug k.

btw, new gear...same frame of mind. IT IS YOUR TV. I will give you an accurate image in a nice theater room. You will be able to crank it up when the sun is high!
