Speaking to San Jose Mercury News' SiliconValley.com, Reggie Fils-Aime has commented on the popularity of the Xbox 360 in the old continent. The President and Chief Operating Officer of Nintendo of America said Microsoft's next-generation console is not doing well in Europe.

"360 is selling well only in one country: UK. Across the rest of Europe, it is not performing well." said Fils-Aime. "Wii, on the other hand, is selling exceptionally well all through Europe."

There all buying Wii's...cant say they are making a huge mistake or anything just yet...its how well they sell the PS3 that we'll see something.

Consider the source, of course that's what Nintendo will say. However, it's also possibly true that people in Europe might not have the disposable income, as well as having an HD display. I agree that we should sit back and see how well the PS3 does over there.
