Anyone think about trading me a pair of speakers?

This is a total long shot but I'd really like to look into swapping a pair of B&W CDM SNT's for a pair of decent bookshelf sized or even floor standing speakers. The SNT's retailed for $600 a piece. These are approximately 3 years old, never abused. I am using 4 in my system (FL, FR, SL, SR). They sound phenomenal but I'm building my system more to have it be a better 2 channel setup for music. The SNT's create a placement problem for me in my space. They're meant to be hung on a wall and the way my room is setup, I cannot put them on the wall in the correct position because there are windows there. :(

So if by chance you're in the market for a pair of well taken-care of B&W wall speakers, and you have a pair of floor standers or big bookshelves that can be used as fronts, please let me know. Will consider trades straight up or trades + some cash. Prefer local to keep things honest.

Here's the official product sheet. I would have no problem recommending these as fronts in a HT-focused setup, and rears in any HT setup.

also worth mentioning, and not left implied, that I am looking for good speakers...I don't want to downgrade. And I give much preference to black finish ;)

godson, I'd put their value at about $700 for the pair, give or take. I'm basing that on an estimated depreciation based on prices I see on Audiogon.com. I don't see any CDM SNT's up there, but a CDM Center Channel just sold for $350 and the centers and surrounds all had the same MSRP.

Man I wish I could grab those from ya....been itching to upgrade and that seems like a steal deal...Ive loked around and couldnt find then anywhere...and some I did find used, well I cant exactly trust they are in good working condition and they were certainly more than what your looking for. Ive asked the mods for a For Sale section...not that Hot Deals/Promotions thread that usually ends up a spam fest. Something decent with a few good subcatagory forums for us members to buy/sell stuff. The thread is in the Forum Feedback area...I just added it to the Maybe we need thread...only got 1 taker so far, maybe drop a line in there and perhaps the mods can get that rollin...Im sure it would be easier to sell/trade in a thread dedicated to buy/sell.

I think I posted something like that in the Forum Feedback. I'll take a look, let's see if we can get the ball rolling on a F/S or WTB forum.

No worries about the trade anyway bro. I'm not in a hurry to make a move. This is a feeler. Not to say that in the end I don't want to move them. I'm sure I want to upgrade my fronts. The wife is not working right now but she's interviewing on Monday w/ a good company. Once she lands a job and we're back to where we're used to being, I can talk speakers w/ her. If I mentioned it right now (even spending the 300 more that I'd need on top of the $700 to get the new Outlaw bookshelfers), I'd probably get a frying pan in the head. I just put her thru the Verizon FiOS debacle. I gotta chill for a little bit. We'll let some time go by. If you're still interested in 4-8 weeks, they'll most likely still be in the man-room. lol

Looked into www.audiogon.com?
Some nice equipment there, and it moves quite quickly. I've sold 3 items and each transaction completed within a week. Less risky than Ebay in my experience, esp. for good components. You deal with enthusiasts not just people looking for a bargain or easy money.
Might even do a trade or slight trade up for some amount.

Yeah I've checked that site out. There is a lot of nice stuff in there. I would definitely fall back to that if I came down to really wanting to move these speakers quickly.

I would like to get between $700-850 for the speakers, then all I gotta do is make up the difference of $150 for the new Outlaw speakers. :D
