Question: HDTV Startup "handshaking"???

Just curious ... I've had my Zenith 27" 4:3 HD set for about a year or so ... and for some reason ... when I turn it on, it always takes about 3-5 minutes of flickering on ... then going to a message that says something to the effect of "Please connect a sourcel to set with valid 480i, or 1080i signal"....

Eventually ... the set and the cable box always "agree" on the 1080i I have the box set for, and that the set is capable of delivering ... and the picture is quite spectacular actually.

I'm just wondering if I should expect the same thing from the Toshiba 34HF84 I've ordered. I've kind of gotten used to it ... though it used to drive me nuts.

Either way, as long as the picture is awesome as I expect it to be ... I'll live with this if I have to, but I thought I'd see what others thought.

THANK YOU!

If you are using a DVI connection I would guess it to be just another HDCP issue.
If you are using component video then I would be simply baffled...

Guess we'll just see when the new set gets here if the issue goes away or not....
