Exactly. It's just not practical for the HT. Not enough content, makes a lot of people dizzy, and who wants to wear those goofy glasses while sitting on the couch at home??

Did you guys read the article?

This isn't for the home. You have to go to a movie theater to see this.

You ca't tell me IMAX 3D is bad and they said that the 3D affect will not be as intense as it is with IMAX 3D . . .no basketballs commin at you or such.

Just intense depth of field for watching a basketball game . . .on a 30 FOOT screen

I didn't read the article, because I've read and heard a few things about it already.. No doubt it would be a great experience, I would have loved to have been a part of that.. but I think the last poster and I were referring more to the title of your thread, the "here it comes"

Well I would be more than happy to either expand the thread or start a new one that did concern 3D HDTV.

With the high resolution of HDTV, 3D movies could finally be seen at home in a clarity that rivaled the movie theaters.

Since 1950 there have been over 300 movies (not counting IMAX) made in the 3D process.

The headachs come from the low resolution of previous formats.

Just a side note, you can make almost any movie look like a 3D movie by taking a pair of sunglasses (must be neutral gray) and knock out 1 lens and watch a movie . . .presto cheap 3D . . .sort of
