So I received my Thecus N2050UD yesterday and my 2 Maxtor 500 gig hard drives. I quickly installed the 2 drives into the storage device and plugged it into the HR20-700. Actually the process is as follows:

unplugged the HR20-700 (make sure to unplug from power completely)
plugged in the Thecus N2050 (complete w/matching blue lights)
wait for Thecus to power up
plug in HR20-700

So after HR20 boots up displays signifying the quick format of the new drives. Approximately 5 minutes later I am up and running with the new storage space. I will record as much as I can in the next couple of days to check and see how the recordings come out.

More to come.

newegg.com shows the case @ $150 and the drives @ $140 each.
Not a bad deal for that much storage that actually works.
