I plan on buying a HDTV for my bedroom, so I plan on getting this 26in Samsung http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?id=1077626340538&skuId=6407836&productCategoryId=pcmcat31800050031&type=product
Is this TV any good? I can't afford to pay for a TV that cost near $1000 since im in college, and I think this TV has a great price since it has a built in Tuner. Since I have cable Tv what do I need to buy in order to get the best out of my TV? Do I need to purchase wires? What do I get from my cable company? Also what will regular digiatal chanels will look like since the TV is widescreen?

cable co. should supply all the cable hook-ups you need

that TV is probably just fine, but it does not have PIP
this set is bigger, cheaper, and has PIP

they also have more to choose from

just some food for thought :)

What is PIP? OK if this picture in picture this not not something I need. Also isn't this a cheap brand of HDTVs?

*EDIT* I just a 3 page thread on this TV so im going to go throught this and see what other ppl say about it.

I just purchased one of the 26" Samsungs last week.
I am very happy with it.

Talk to Bestbuy I'm sure they will come down on the price some.
I bought mine at a local appliance center ( ABC Warehouse ).
Price started at $699 but after some haggling I got them down to $579 :D

Regular channels have a black bar on each side. The TV does have a zoom mode that eliminates the bars by cutting a bit off the top and bottom of the picture.

Thx for the Info Boke. I read through the Sanyo thread and I think i'll stick with the Samsung. I may even just get my girlfriend to throw in a few hundred dolloars so I can get a 30in.
