Do I have a 30 day Satisfaction Guarantee?

Meaning, if I am NOT satisfied within 30 days I can cancel?

Today is day 30 and I am seriously considering dropping DTV HD until things get better and more settled.

Read your agreement. Not sure how any of us would know what you signed.

Are you talking about dropping D*'s HD or D* ?
D*'s HD you can drop anytime.

Dropping just the HD portion... assuming that will also kill the 2 year agreement. to my knowledge, I didn't sign anything except to say that the guy installed the dish and the HD receiver (and no I didn't read the fine print).

I'm just not hyped up on the 7 channels I'm getting and my locals are OTA

Not to be a smart ass, but you shouldn't be asking that question here, you should be on the phone with DTV.

Based on what I have read I truly believe that things will get better for D* HD by mid April or so, after D-10 is in orbit. Hope springs eternal......

You can drop the HD portion anytime you want. That has nothing to do with your 2 years commitment.
The commitment goes with the rec,. you activate, not the programming you sub too.

Hit dog,
I don't understand your quote above:

I don't see any problem with it ...

Actually the 2 year commitment refers to a D* package. So you can drop HD anytime as long as you maintain any base package. The only thing I'm not sure about is if you leased the receiver and broke the payments up into 3 payments. You may still be responsible for the full lease price.
