DVE info (for Samsung)

So I just bought DVE (from overstock.com for cheaper than ebay), but I've never fiddled with the service menu much. I know I need to record all values down before I change anything, and I know how to get into the Service Menu (tv off, Mute, 1, 8, 2, Power for other Samsung TX-P3264 users) but I have a few questions.
First, does DVE deal with a lot of Service Menu tweaking or is it moreso basic menu tweaking (contrast/brightness/etc).
Second, are service menus pretty much all the same, such that the DVE tutorial will be straightforward, or will i have to figure out "okay they say tweak the convergence... I think convergence is this C417___ value...thingy..?"

Obviously, I just want to get the most out of my set, but want an idea of what to expect. Thanks for the advice.

Also, I couldnt find a service manual for my set online (servicemanuals.net/samsungparts.com) but don't know if i need one or not.

DVE has two tiers of menus. The first is the basic menu for video and audio where you are adjusting basic settings based on visual patterns and sound standards. You can then go to advanced menus that provide patterns that would be tweaked via the service menu. DVE of course has repeated warnings that these advanced adjustments should only be done by a qualified technician. :)
