I have been looking at some of the posts about the HD upgrade package and was wondering about the newer h20 model numbers. Directv just installed mine and when they were doing that I asked them what model number it was and they said it was a H20-2500. When I looked at the box and receiver they were H20-100. Is this an older model? I also was out and about at Best Buy and looked at the display they had and saw the Hr20-250 recorder for $99. I have read some posts that this wouldn't be available for a few months.. Ya' gotta love Directv for the latest info................

I would bet that if you looked at the sticker closer it would have said
HR10-250.... That is the mpeg2 hd dvr

HR20-700 is not out yet.

You need this to receive any "local HD" channels and all future MPEG4 HD "National" channels, plus D* recently began offering RSN HD in some local markets and they can only be seen with the MPEG4 H20 HD receiver.

You can see your local RSN's w/out the H-20. I have the AT-9 dish and I'm currently using the HR10-250 STB. I watched the Devil Rays/A's game yesterday with no issues (I'm in Tampa and the D'Rays are my local team).

The RSN's on channel 96 are mpeg4 so you will need the H-20. ;)
